An IT support service specifically for the development and use of the REDCap application is available, to offer services to help researchers optimize their research work.
RedCap
Services Offered
A resource works part-time to provide the following services, among others:
- Implementation or support for the implementation of a data collection solution using REDCap online database and survey software.
- Conversion of an existing data collection system to REDCap with the ability to automatically transfer research data already collected.
- Any paper, Excel, Access or other form or survey can be transformed into a structured, easy-to-use, web-accessible, analyzable system.
*IMPORTANT: REDCap services, as well as the use of the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Centre (CRCHU) REDCap Web application, are offered only as part of an authorized research project at the institution (and not for clinical use, such as an evaluation of the medical act not associated with a research project). You will therefore be asked to provide the ethics number of the project for which you are requesting REDCap services or access.
It is also possible to use REDCap for administrative research purposes; no nominative user data must be collected for these purposes. To do so, a written request detailing the needs of the project must be sent to rechclinique@crchudequebec.ulaval.ca.
In all cases, the project will be validated and approved before authorizing its creation and access to the interface. Charges will apply for opening the project (see “Project creation” service in the price list).
Cybersecurity framework of the DRI of the CHU de Québec-Université Laval
A document entitled “REDCap CRCHU: user guide” describes the rights and roles of REDCap users, the process for accessing the instance hosted at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Centre (redcap.chudequebec.ca), as well as the best practices to be applied in the various data management activities (collection, processing, protection, storage). This guide is intended for all staff using or wishing to use the REDCap functionalities offered at the CRCHU and has been prepared to comply with the new cybersecurity framework of the DRI of the CHU.
