The cytometry platform at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center offers a wide range of services in cellular analysis and sorting. With its modern and comprehensive instrument park, it is possible to analyze up to 30 distinct markers on a variety of cell types.
What is flow cytometry?
Flow cytometry is a technique for the quantitative and qualitative characterization of individual particles suspended in a liquid. To do this, a flow cytometer passes particles of interest (various cells, bacteria, extracellular vesicles) at high speed through a laser beam. The light emitted by the particles (through scattering or fluorescence) allows for the counting and classification of the populations studied according to different characteristics.
New addition at the core facility!
The flow cytometry core facility is pleased to welcome a new cytometer to its fleet of instruments: the Cytek Northern Lights. This spectral flow cytometer allows the analysis of up to thirty colors with a resolution of up to 100 nm. This innovative device is the only one in the greater Quebec City region.
