Blood Sample Collection Services

Blood sample collection services are available to clinical research teams working at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval.

Sample collection services hours: Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Eligible volume: small and medium.
Please allow 2 working days for all sample requests.
A request for a blood sample must always be accompanied by a service request form and a consent form approved by the research ethics board.
Tubes: to facilitate management, the PRCE will be responsible for supplying the tubes (citrate - 2.7 ml) and any other standard tubes for blood sampling. The tubes used will be invoiced at cost price. If your sample requires a different type of tube, please indicate this on the request for service form and ensure that this type of tube is supplied before the desired puncture date.
Juices supplied for medium-volume samples will be invoiced at cost price.
Provide the updated version of the consent form approved by the REB and the CRF for your project when you make a new request.

* Tubes not included (supplied and invoiced by PRCE).

Note: if you require samples for analysis at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval laboratory, you must provide the identified tubes to the blood sample collection services nurse.

Special situations :

Cancellation policy (client/donor) : cancellation fees may be charged depending on the steps taken following a cancellation.
Work outside scheduled service hours : 10% bonus on the applicable hourly rate.
Compensation without having taken a sample : the client is responsible for all costs related to compensation given to donors for samples, even if it is not possible to obtain a sample.

The online form can be completed directly in the Web window, saved, and sent electronically.
The time you indicate on your request for an appointment with the donor is the time at which the collection will begin.
The budget number given must be the one to be used for billing purposes.
Be sure to provide an extension number where we can contact you if necessary.
