Useful Information
General Principles Concerning the Invoicing of Services
The services invoiced are the direct services offered by our statisticians or any other member of the PRCE providing the service, excluding the time for developing new procedures or training.
Timeframe
For statistical services that are in high demand, it is usually necessary to allow 10 working days before work can begin on the project. It is important to contact our statisticians in advance, and they will be able to provide a schedule and cost estimate.
Research Training Support for CHU de Québec-Université Laval Residents
Please note that free services for medical residents are temporarily suspended as of 15 September 2025. No new applications will be accepted after this date unless funding is available to cover the cost of services.*
We are working with the Direction de l’enseignement et des affaires universitaires (DEAU) of the CHU de Québec-Université Laval and the Faculté de médecine of the Université Laval to restore the service as quickly as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
For resident projects already in progress (applications already received and accepted or services already started), our platform will continue to offer free services until 1 October 2025.*
*Please note that residents with funding or whose principal investigator agrees to pay for the cost of services may request services/the continuation of services already in progress; the services rendered will then be billable and an active budget number must be provided to allow the services to begin or continue.

In order to plan your budget accordingly, please note the following points:
- Preparation time for the first meeting (including reading the protocol, checking the database if necessary, and any other preliminary analysis) is considered a billable service;
- A biostatistician and a biostatistician-epidemiologist from PRCE will participate in the first meeting.* Their complementary expertise allows for an integrated and complete consideration of the project’s methodological issues. Please allow one hour of billable service per biostatistician for this initial meeting.
*A single biostatistician will be responsible for subsequent statistical analysis.
