In a spirit of support and training for residents, the Direction de l’enseignement et des affaires universitaires (DEAU) of CHU de Québec-Université Laval funds up to 35 hours of PRCE services (methodological and biostatistical services) per research project.

Eligibility criteria and conditions for access to free services:

• Be a resident enrolled in a residency program at Université Laval’s Faculty of Medicine;
• Have a clinician-researcher who is a member of the Conseil des médecins, dentistes et pharmaciens (CMDP) of CHU de Québec-Université Laval responsible for the research project at CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• The research project must not be funded by a source external to CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• It is mandatory to establish initial contact with the PRCE team, methodology and biostatistics section, as soon as your research project is being developed, by writing to the general e-mail address: rechclinique@crchudequebec.ulaval.ca;
• It is also mandatory to commit, in writing (signatures required) to :
  • Collaborate with the PRCE member(s) involved until the end of the project;
  • Present at least the results of their research project at the annual conference of the Association du Québec in their specialty (or equivalent);
  • Inform the PRCE of all publications and/or communications.
• You are required to complete the Commitment/Collaboration Agreement form (formulaire d’engagement/d’entente de collaboration; only available in French);
• You must read and complete the “Recommended minimum content […]” document  (Contenu minimal recommandé […]; only available in French) before your first project meeting;
• Residents are required to complete the Request for Services – Residents form (formulaire de demande de services – Résidents; only available in French) and provide a valid budget number (CHU, or ULaval) in the event of cost overruns (more than 35 hours of services). Additional services will be billed at the current CHU de Québec-Université Laval internal rate.

Eligibility criteria and conditions for access to free services (35 hours per research project):

• Undergraduate medical students must be registered as such with Université Laval’s Faculty of Medicine;
• Professionals from the Direction des soins infirmiers (DSI) or the Direction des services multidisciplinaires (DSM) must be affiliated with their respective department at CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• Have a researcher with recognized researcher status at the Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec-Université Laval responsible for the research project at CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• The research project must not be funded by a source external to CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• It is mandatory to establish initial contact with the PRCE team, methodology and biostatistics section, as soon as your research project is being developed, by writing to the general e-mail address: rechclinique@crchudequebec.ulaval.ca;
• You are required to read and complete the “Recommended minimum content […]” document  (Contenu minimal recommandé […]; only available in French) before your first project meeting;
• You must complete the Request for Services – General form (formulaire de demande de services – Général; only available in French), specifying your status and department, and provide a valid budget number (CHU, or ULaval) in the event of cost overruns (more than 35 hours of services). Additional services will be billed at the current CHU de Québec-Université Laval internal rate.

Eligibility criteria and conditions for access to free services :

• Be a pharmacist member of the Conseil des médecins, dentistes et pharmaciens (CMDP) du CHU de Québec-Université Laval; OR
• Be a pharmacy student/resident enrolled in a training program at Université Laval’s Faculty of Pharmacy;
• For pharmacy students/residents: have a research pharmacist who is a member of the Conseil des médecins, dentistes et pharmaciens (CMDP) of CHU de Québec-Université Laval responsible for the research project at CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• The research project must not be funded by a source external to CHU de Québec-Université Laval;
• Contact Mr. Christian Héroux, pharmacist and research coordinator at the Unité pour l’usage optimal du médicament et la recherche (UGMR) at CHU de Québec-Université Laval, at christian.heroux@chudequebec.ca to obtain prior authorization*;
• It is mandatory to establish initial contact with the PRCE team, methodology and biostatistics section, as soon as your research project is being developed, by writing to the general address: rechclinique@crchudequebec.ulaval.ca;
• You are required to read and complete the “Minimum recommended content […]” document (Contenu minimal recommandé […]; only available in French) before your first project meeting;
• Please fill in the Request for Services – General form (formulaire de demande de services – Général; only available in French), specifying your status (research pharmacist, pharmacy student/resident);

*Please note that a limited number of hours of free services are reserved each year for the Pharmacy Department. This step ensures a fair distribution of free hours between learners and established pharmacists.
