DNA Synthesis

To access the portal and place orders, you must:

1. Be a member of the CHU de Québec staff (CHUL, HDQ, HSFA, HEJ and HSS) and have a CRCHU de Québec research budget (e.g., 81999-CG123456). Other institutions that do not have this type of budget must provide a specific purchase order (PO – Purchase Order) for each order.

2. Have a PC or Mac computer with a web browser to access the Web.
3. At first use: Go to the “https://www.idtdna.com/CRCHUQ” website and NOT to the IDT company website.
    
   Open an account and define a username and password.Place your first order immediately or later, then log out.
    
   We will send you an email to obtain additional information.
4. Subsequently, and for all other orders: Access the “https://www.idtdna.com/CRCHUQ” website and NOT the IDT company website.
    
   Log in using your username and password.
    
   Place your order, then log out.

After your registration, we will receive a notice of account opening approval and will contact you to obtain additional information. Thereafter, orders will be automatically accepted.

When you place an order through the portal, the total amount shown at the end of the process does not display provincial or federal taxes (Tax   $0.00 CAD). However, during periodic billing to researchers, a tax of 5.688% must be added for the CHU de Québec and 6.934% for Université Laval.

Taxes are added only during the periodic processing of orders. Note that there will be no invoicing as such; rather, funds will be transferred from the researcher’s budget to the DNA synthesis service budget.

Based on the example shown on the right, for a CHU de Québec order of $290.18, a 5.688% tax must be added, i.e. $16.51, for a total amount of $306.69. If the order comes from Université Laval, a 6.934% tax must be added, i.e. $20.12, for a total amount of $310.30.

All shipping costs are covered by the service, so you have no fees to pay, except for deliveries on dry ice or special handling charges. Please note that these fees will not appear when placing the order through the portal.

Option 1: The best method to cancel an order is to “Chat”. To do so, click on “Get Help – Chat Now” at the top right of the IDT portal homepage. Enter the relevant information and the order number (IDT Sales Order number or SO#) that you received by email shortly after placing your order. Select the help type “I want information about my order, account, or pricing.” After the greeting message from the IDT representative, simply state that you wish to cancel order SO#nnnnnnn.

Option 2: You may also contact IDT by phone at 1‑800‑328‑2661 (English only).

Option 3: You may always send an email, but there is a risk that it will not be read in time to allow cancellation of your order.

In all cases, you must provide the order number (IDT Sales Order # or SO#) that you received by email from IDT after submitting your order.

It is essential to cancel your order before 4:00 p.m. on the same day, as the oligos are synthesized during the following night and cancellation becomes difficult to obtain.

To avoid any inconvenience, please be sure to carefully review your order before submitting it.
