The Bioimaging platform supervises the use of many different equipment and microscopes that are available for all the Quebec region scientific community. The users receive an appropriate and personalized training for each equipment. Our service also ensures the new technology monitoring for the equipment and aim to meet the specific needs of the users (special techniques, equipment acquisition, information about equipment, consultation for imaging projects). The occasional users can also have an image acquisition and analysis service from the platform staff.

Stereomicroscopy:

Fluorescence microscopy:

  • Nikon Eclipse TE300, inverted configuration and CCD camera  
  • Olympus BX51, upright configuration and CCD camera 
  • Quorum Wave FX, spinning disc confocal, Live-cell imaging incubation chamber 
  • Quorum Wave FX , spinning disck confocal with laser microdissection (MMI CellCut) and microinjection (MMI CellEctor)

Electron microscopy:

  • Tecnai Spirit (FEI) Transmission Electron microscope, cryo-EM and tomography options available 

Sample preparation:

  • Leica Ultracut S ultramicrotome 
  • Quorum Q150T (carbon coater) 
  • SEM/TEM sample preparation system (nanospray) from Hamamatsu Nanotechnology 
  • Vitrobot MarkIV from FEI (vitrification) 

Image analysis:

  • Image analysis computer (Softwares : Volocity, MetaMorph, Fiji, CellProfiler)
