The Orbitrap Exploris 480 (Thermo Fisher Scientific) is the latest instrument in the Q-Orbitrap series. This instrument produces high-resolution spectra (up to 480,000 K) allowing for precise measurements (<2 ppm). It is particularly well-suited for the analysis of complex protein mixtures thanks to its highly sensitive Data Independent Acquisition (DIA) mode.
This instrument is coupled with a robust and reproducible liquid chromatography system, the Evosep One, capable of analyzing 30 to 300 samples per day with great robustness and reproducibility. Additionally, it utilizes single-use pre-columns to prevent cross-contamination between samples.
Together, the Orbitrap Exploris 480 and the Evosep One enable the precise identification and quantification of thousands of proteins (depending on the sample type) in studies involving hundreds of biological samples. Therefore, it is particularly useful for the analysis of clinical samples from large patient cohorts.
