Thierno Diallo is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Nursing at Laval University. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Geneva (Switzerland). After completing his thesis, he conducted postdoctoral research in public health and territorial planning at Laval University. He has worked with higher education institutions and government agencies in Europe and Canada, as well as with United Nations agencies.

His research interests primarily focus on climate change and health. He is a member of the editorial board of the Global Health Promotion journal and the Health-Environment section of the Swiss Medical Review. He also co-chairs the global working group on health impact assessment of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE).

Thierno Diallo has conducted and continues to conduct research on co-benefits for public health, mitigation policies, and adaptation to climate change. He also works on tools for better integrating health concerns into climate change policies. He is also interested in the contribution of these policies in terms of reducing social inequalities. His current research also focuses on the perceptions and training of nurses regarding climate change. Additionally, Thierno Diallo conducts research on the links between urban planning and sustainable health in partnership with the University of Lausanne.
