Assistant professor
Department of Surgery
Faculty of Medicine

Dr. Pierre-Olivier Champagne is a neurosurgeon, clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of Université Laval, and a regular researcher at LOEX, Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus, CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center.

He is the director of the Laboratory of Innovation in Neurosurgery at Université Laval (LINUL), which is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of brain tumors, primarily those affecting the base of the skull. These tumors, located at the interface between the brain, nerves, and blood vessels, are among the most complex to treat and represent a major clinical challenge. LINUL’s research approach intersects several scientific domains, including neurosurgery, biomedical engineering, biomaterials, and medical imaging. LINUL’s work revolves around three main research axes: a clinical research axis, a biomaterials/bioengineering research axis, and a research axis on cadaveric models.
