Dr. Iwona Rudkowska completed her university studies in nutritional sciences at McGill University. She then pursued her postdoctoral training at the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods at Université Laval. Afterwards, she obtained a position as a professor in the Department of Kinesiology of the Faculty of Medicine and established her research laboratory at the CHU de Québec Research Center.

Dr. Rudkowska’s research program aims to investigate novel nutrition strategies to reduce the risks of type 2 diabetes. Her laboratory integrates traditional research methods with innovative experimental research methods (such as metabolomics, proteomics, machine learning) to confirm the benefits and mechanisms of action of various nutrition strategies or nutrients.

In addition, Dr. Rudkowska’s research strengthens the concept of precision nutrition, using a subject’s various characteristics and genomic profile, to help establish a diet customized to their needs.

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. - Anatole France
