Dominique Beaulieu is an associate researcher at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Center and a regular professor in the Department of Health Sciences at the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), Lévis Campus, since 2012. A nurse by training, she practiced in various critical care settings in Quebec and Switzerland between 1994 and 2003. In parallel, since 1991, she has worked as a research professional on numerous projects related to health promotion (e.g., physical activity practice, fruit and vegetable consumption, prevention of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, smoking cessation, etc.), particularly for the Canada Research Chair on Behaviors and Health at Laval University.

Her research program focuses on understanding health-related behaviors, as well as the development and evaluation of programs. More specifically, her program aims to promote healthy lifestyles among youth. Her current projects focus on identifying factors associated with the consumption of sugary drinks, water consumption, and screen time among adolescents. These works aim to identify targets for intervention to promote health and prevent chronic diseases. Guided by the Intervention Mapping planning framework and the Ecological Approach, her projects involve the development and evaluation of innovative interventions for youth.

Her teaching activities focus on program development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as research and statistics at the graduate level in nursing sciences. Since 2020, she has served as the Director of Graduate Programs in Nursing Sciences at UQAR.
