Mouse genotyping is essential for the successful progression of a scientific research project. This step is crucial for managing mouse lines, identifying the genotype of offspring, and confirming the genetic constitution, whether modified or unmodified (knock-in/knock-out mice).
Technique
Mouse genotyping is performed via PCR using samples obtained from tail snips or ear punches. DNA extraction is carried out using the Extracta DNA Prep for PCR-Tissue kit from Quantabio.
The genotyping strategy is based on information provided by the company selling the mouse line.
