After completing her specialized bachelor’s degree in nutritional sciences (B.Sc.Nut) at the University of Ottawa, Inès Auclair Mangliar pursued her master’s studies focused on the pregnant population under the supervision of Professor Anne-Sophie Morisset. Alongside her graduate studies, she worked as a clinical nutritionist at CHU de Québec, primarily in the high-risk pregnancy department (GARE).

Nutrition, Perinatal Care, and Diabetes:

Gestational diabetes is a condition that affects an average of one in ten individuals and has significant long-term health impacts on women and future generations. As a clinical nutritionist-researcher, she aims to develop a nutrition service pathway to manage the health of postpartum women who developed gestational diabetes.

In the long term, she and her team hope that this project can serve as a model for many organizations within the Quebec healthcare system to improve the nutrition care and services provided to women, thereby reversing the concerning trend within this particularly at-risk population.
