Dr. Francoeur is a specialist physician in intensive care at the CHU de Québec, as well as a clinical professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Laval University since 2014. He joined the Research Center of the CHU de Québec as an associated researcher in the Population Health and Optimal Health Practices axis (traumatology, emergency, and intensive care). He currently chairs the Quebec Intensive Care Experts Group (GESIQ) and serves as the Coordinator Physician for Organ and Tissue Donation for the CHU de Québec-Laval University.

He obtained his medical degree from the University of Sherbrooke in 2007 (MD), followed by specialization in internal medicine at Laval University (FRCPC 2012), then in adult intensive care at the University of Montreal (FRCPC 2013). Subsequently, he completed postdoctoral training in neurocritical care at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York from 2014 to 2016, and earned a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from Columbia University in New York in 2017 (M.Sc.).

Dr. Francoeur’s research focuses primarily on neurocritical care and technology assessment. His work includes preventing secondary injuries in patients with brain pathologies, optimizing neurological resuscitation techniques, and evaluating technologies in real-world care contexts.
