Dr. Michel Alary is an associate professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine since his retirement as a full professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at Laval University in 2022. His research program is primarily focused on global health. It involves evaluating combined prevention approaches for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in developing countries, particularly among the most vulnerable and marginalized populations, as well as addressing health equity issues for the same populations. He also has an interest in monitoring the epidemiological situation of HIV and hepatitis viruses in particularly vulnerable populations in Quebec, such as injectable drug users and prisoners.
