Initially trained in Pharmacoeconomics, Professor Guertin did his doctoral research in Pharmacoepidemiology at Université de Montréal followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship in Health Technology Assessment at McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario). His research interests focus primarily on evaluating and reevaluating the efficiency of various high cost low volume technologies.

Recently, he started to collaborate extensively with researchers from the Regenerative medicine program to conduct various steps related to the economic evaluation of different regenerative medicine treatments or related to rare diseases.

In addition, an important aspect of his research program aims to build capacity within the fields of Pharmacoeconomics and Health Economics in Quebec through the creation of various tools designed to automate various analyses related to these two fields.
