Dr. François Emond completed his medical degree at Laval University in 1997 and his residency in adult neurology in 2002. After a clinical fellowship in multiple sclerosis at the Ottawa Hospital under the direction of Dr. Mark S. Freedman, he joined the neurology department at the CHU de Québec-Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus. Since 2012, he has been the director of the multiple sclerosis clinic at the CHU de Québec and the CIUSSS Capitale-Nationale (IRDPQ, Boulevard-Hamel site – François-Charron Center).

In addition to monitoring several hundred patients with multiple sclerosis, he participates in teaching students, externs, and residents within the RUIS-Laval network. Since 2003, Dr. Emond has been involved in multiple clinical studies on multiple sclerosis treatments, serving as a local principal investigator or co-investigator.
