He completed his PhD in Virology at the University of Toronto, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Friedrich Miescher Institute in Basel, Switzerland (1994-99). In June 1999, he joined the Infectious Disease Research Center at Laval University/CHU de Québec, where he now serves as a full professor.

His research focuses on the development of universal vaccines against influenza and SARS-CoV-2, utilizing nanoparticles. These nanoparticles not only excel at inducing innate immunity but also hold promise for cancer immunotherapy. They can play a crucial role in preventing the implantation of metastases and reducing tumor growth.

The process of technology transfer requires rigor, precision, and determination.
