Christine Turgeon has a multidisciplinary background that combines clinical, scientific, and entrepreneurial approaches. A clinical audiologist since 2007, she has accumulated experience in both private and public sectors, in urban centers, remote regions, in northern Quebec, as well as in humanitarian settings in Africa and Haiti. She has developed a comprehensive vision of audiological practice.

After completing a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences at the University of Montreal, she pursued postdoctoral studies at the Phonetics Laboratory of the University of Quebec at Montreal and is now a professor of audiology at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University.

She is currently an established researcher at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval and at Cirris – Interdisciplinary Research Center for Rehabilitation and Social Integration. Her work focuses on the development of auditory and language functions, as well as on social and cognitive issues in children with hearing loss and cochlear implants. Her expertise also includes cochlear and bone-anchored implants, with a particular interest in new technologies, post-surgical performance, rehabilitation, and the effectiveness of care. She is also conducting research on the development of rehabilitation technologies for the detection and management of speech and learning disorders. In parallel, she is working to improve access to audiology services in remote areas by collaborating with local stakeholders to address the lack of resources.
