Before joining the School of Psychology as a professor in 2014, Célia Matte-Gagné obtained her doctorate (Ph.D.) in psychology (research and intervention) specializing in childhood/family from the University of Montreal and completed a postdoctoral research internship at the Center for Human Development Research at Concordia University. Her research interests focus on the mechanisms underlying the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children, particularly the development of executive functions. As a determinant of child development, she is particularly interested in parent-child relationships and parental behaviors such as autonomy support. Ms. Matte-Gagné has acquired advanced training in coding parent-child interactions and advanced statistical methods, including trajectory-based developmental analysis.
