Dr. Elisabeth Spénard is a gynecologic oncologist at Hôtel-Dieu de Québec Hospital and an associate professor at Université Laval. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Montreal, followed by a clinical fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Toronto. During her fellowship, she also earned a master’s degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) at the University of Toronto. Since then, she has become an associate professor at IHPME, where she supervises QIPS master’s students.

Her research interests include hereditary cancer screening and prevention, management of ovarian cancer precursor lesions, molecular characterization of gynecologic cancers, as well as the development of quality metrics to improve medical and surgical care in gynecologic oncology.
