Dr. Proulx-Gauthier completed his medical doctorate in 2009 at the Trois-Rivières campus of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal. He pursued his residency training in pediatrics at the CHUL from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, he completed a subspecialization in pediatric rheumatology at the Montreal Children’s Hospital from 2012 to 2014. Finally, he acquired expertise in pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound during his additional training. He joined the pediatric rheumatology department at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval in 2015.

He is actively involved in teaching at the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University, particularly with residents in pediatrics and rheumatology programs. He is responsible for the residents’ well-being committee in pediatrics.

His various research activities focus on juvenile idiopathic arthritis (CAPRI—Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators), non-infectious osteomyelitis (Canadian Rheumatology Association), and finally, pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound within CARRA (Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance).
