Dr. Michel Labrecque MD PhD (epidemiology) is an emeritus professor from the Department of Family and Emergency Medicine at Laval University, Quebec City, Canada. He is an associated clinical researcher of the CHU de Québec-Université Laval Research Centre. His academic activities have been marked by a constant concern to evaluate promising clinical approaches and integrate them into practice.

Over the years, his research activities focused on knowledge translation strategies to improve medical practice through shared decision-making and information technology, as well as female and male reproductive health. He received the Family Medicine Researcher of the Year national award in 2014 and was recognized as one of the Top 20 Pioneers of Family Medicine Research in Canada in 2015.

Recently retired from family practice, he now restrains his clinical and research activities to the practice and teaching of vasectomy. Thanks to the Fonds Michel-Labrecque en santé reproductive masculine from the Laval University Foundation, he is actively involved in supporting training and research initiatives of vasectomy programs in countries with limited resources.
