Clermont Dionne is a full professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval and Chair of the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine at that faculty. In research, he uses the methods of epidemiology to study chronic musculoskeletal pain, an extremely common health problem that carries one of the heaviest health burdens. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Washington (School of Public Health) and Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute, Seattle, WA, USA). A member of numerous national and international committees, Professor Dionne is Epidemiology Section Editor of the journal Pain, the premier scientific journal on pain.
