Dr. Stéphane Gobeil is a researcher at the Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec-Laval University and an associate professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University. He completed postdoctoral training in the Program of Gene Function and Expression at the University of Massachusetts. During his training under the supervision of Dr. Michael R. Green, he developed a highly efficient genome-wide RNA interference screening strategy that was critical to the publication of several high-impact papers.

Dr. Gobeil’s laboratory uses cellular and molecular biology as well as functional genomics to identify and determine the function of genes involved in different pathologies. Another important interest of his lab is molecular pharmacology, which he uses to determine the mechanism of action of new small molecules with anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor potential. These two research interests make this laboratory an environment conducive to the discovery and development of therapeutic targets and biomarkers.
