Dr. Robert Faure Ph.D.’s group is located at the Research Center of CHU Quebec, CHUL Centre-Mère-Enfant-Soleil. He is a full professor in the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine at Laval University.
Dr Faure studied the spatial and temporal insulin receptor signaling. He recently established a proteome of endosomes that allowed the study of physical protein interaction networks in a type 2 diabetes mellitus background. The resulting interactome is dense, organized around major hubs and highly enriched with genes associated with the type 2 diabetes genetic risk, defining a type 2 diabetes disease module. This module is formed by new signaling mechanisms that are largely unrelated to canonical insulin signaling pathways. It represents a valuable new resource that provides a mechanistic rationale for the exploration of personalized medicine and necessary drugs.
