Dr. Francoeur has been an attending physician in both internal medicine and critical care, as well as a clinical professor at the CHU de Québec – Laval University, since 2014. He joined the Population Health and Optimal Health Practice Research Unit at the CHU de Québec-Laval University in 2017 as a research associate. After receiving his medical degree in 2007 from Université de Sherbrooke, he trained in internal medicine at Laval University in Quebec, and in critical care medicine at the University of Montreal. He completed his master’s degree in epidemiology at the Columbia University of New York in 2016, as well as a clinical fellowship training in neurocritical care at Mount Sinai Hospital, also in New York.
Dr. Francoeur’s research focuses mainly on neurocritical care. Treatment and prevention of secondary insults in patients suffering severe brain injury and optimization of neuroresuscitation are the mainstay of his research efforts.
