Laurence Guillaumie, PhD is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing, Public/Community Health Programs, at Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada). She is trained in health education and counseling. She holds a Master’s degree in Education Science, a PhD in Education Science and Community Health, and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Education. Dr. Guillaumie is also a regular researcher at the CHU de Québec Research Center’s Population Health and Optimal Health Practices Axis, and the Québec Population Health Research Network (QPHRN).

In response to the challenges linked to climate change and ecosystem degradation, she has been particularly interested since 2019 in the promotion of eco-citizenship, pro-environmental practices and environments favoring access to sustainable food (i.e., local, eco-responsible and healthy) for everyone using a public health perspective.

Dr. Guillaumie has conducted several qualitative studies, population surveys and systematic reviews in order to better understand certain populations’ experiences and needs, and the practices and action logic of community, municipal and regional actors. She also has expertise in the development and evaluation of programs that promote eco-citizenship, pro-environmental practices and a sustainable diet, particularly using the Intervention Mapping and the Behavior Change Wheel approaches. She mobilizes theories and concepts derived from partnership and territorial research, ecological transition as well as behavioral, psychoanalytical, and holistic health approaches.
