The CHU de Québec Research Centre (CRCHU) is part of the CHU de Québec, serving the Québec City region and Eastern Québec. The CHU de Québec is the result of the fusion between the CHUQ and the CHA in July of 2012. The CHU de Québec, comprised of L’Hôtel-Dieu de Québec and l’Enfant-Jésus Hospital, Saint-François-d’Assise and Saint-Sacrement Hospitals, is the most important healthcare establishment in the province of Québec and one of the largest CHUs in Canada.

Accredited by the the Fonds de recherche du Québec/Santé (FRQS), the CRCHU de Québec is proud to be among the leading health research centres in Canada, employing nearly 2,500 highly qualified people and over 500 research professionals under seven research axes working in a hospital environment. Nearly 1,000 graduate students, post-graduate interns and fellows frequent the establishment while benefiting from multidisciplinary, international caliber training. The integration of the two originally distinct research centres under the same management is now completed and has evolved in a very positive way over the last year, enabling the CRCHU de Québec to respond more efficiently to the needs of the research professionals’ and partners’ expectations.

The research teams work at the five hospital sites. The CRCHU de Québec has an agreement with Laval University, making it possible to maintain and develop a pool of expertise and excellence as well as a training environment for researchers and healthcare professionals in each one of the areas of research that are offered. The Centre also works with other research environments and ensures unique specialized services to the research community that are not available elsewhere.

The CRCHU de Québec is among the major hospital research centres in Canada. Research professionals and their teams work mainly in the following areas:

  • Endocrinology and Nephrology
  • Infectious and Immune Diseases
  • Regenerative Medicine
  • Neurosciences
  • Oncology
  • Reproduction and Mother & Child Health
  • Population Health and Optimal Health Care Practices
